ATHENS - UGA Football has 14 former players invited to the 2025 NFL Combine in Indianapolis that will begin on Feb. 24.
That’s a big number, and it is second only to Ohio State’s 15 that were invited. Kirby Smart and the Georgia football program continue to rack up the number of players drafted out of Athens.
However, that 14 could have been 17, as Dan Jackson, Chaz Chambliss and Ben Yurosek were all left off of the combine invite list. Jackson being snubbed from the list is the most notable, especially after he was named the best defensive back by his peers at the Reese’s Senior Bowl a couple of weeks ago.

Warren Brinson, one of the former Georgia players that did make the list, took to social media to share his reaction about either Chambliss, a three year starter, being left off.
Yurosek transferred to Georgia after an injury-riddled career at Stanford. His lone year with the Dawgs was underwhelming in terms of productions, so him being left off is not as surprising as Chambliss or Jackson’s snubs. Both have been heavy contributors to, like Brinson said, one of the best defenses in college football the last few years.
Both of them are coming off of their best seasons in Athens as well. Chambliss tied with Jalon Walker with a team-high 6.5 sacks in 2024. Jackson forced the second most turnovers on the team, including
Chambliss is a guy who was criticized a lot in his Georgia career, yet Smart and defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann continued to start him opposite of guys like Nolan Smith and Jalon Walker.
Jackson is a former walk-on that went from asking for a spot on the team to making game-changing plays like the forced fumble on Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King in the fourth quarter of the eventual 8OT win over the Yellow Jackets.
Chambliss and Jackson are two-time national champions that will have Georgia Pro Day and private workouts to further prove themselves to the league.
