ATHENS - After landing four-star Tyler Williams earlier this week, Kirby Smart and James Coley have added their fourth wide receiver commitment in the 2025 class today with the addition of three-star Landon Roldan, one of the fastest-rising pass-catchers in the peach state.
A local wideout out of North Oconee, Roldan earned an offer from Georgia in mid-June after a dominant performance in a 7-on-7 tournament in front of the Bulldog staff.
When Georgia extended an offer, Roldan told Dawg Post it was a big one. It was his biggest offer to date, and now, Roldan has jumped at the opportunity to stay close to home and play for the Dawgs.
What are the Daws getting in Roldan?
Explosiveness, sure hands, production, and a high ceiling.
Don’t worry about the ranking here. This young man can play football and is coming off a giant junior season where he hauled in 50 passes for 1,029 yards and 13 touchdowns last year for North Oconee. He also showed off his versatility, carrying the ball 14 times for 79 yards and three touchdowns.
He brings enough size at 6-foot-1 180-pounds with big-time speed, clocking at 4.4 in the 40-yard dash multiple times this spring in multiple camp settings.
When you turn on the film, his speed stands out immediately, but so do his hands. Roland tracks the ball well in the air and secures it tightly when bringing down a tough catch in traffic. He can snatch the ball out of the air but shows soft enough hands to make a delicate catch over his shoulder. If there’s room to run, he’s a threat to score.
A weapon in the screen game, intermediate game, and an easy vertical option down the field, Roland has the ability to make plays in a number of different ways. He brings quick feet when running routes and knows how to get open on his own. He’s tough to bring down after the catch due to his ability to elude defenders and take off down the field.
He may be a three-star, but the film doesn’t lie, and he’ll only get better and better over time. This commitment may not excite a lot of people, but one thing is clear. This young man can play, and he completely earned this opportunity to play for the Georgia Bulldogs.
