ATHENS - Last week offensive coordinator Mike Bobo landed his quarterback commitment in the 2025 class.

Of course, that would be four-star Ryan Montgomery‍.

The 6-foot-3 215-pounder out of Findlay High School in Ohio committed to Kirby Smart and the Dawgs on April 17th over Florida and South Carolina, giving them a much-needed quarterback commitment.

Montgomery recently spoke with Dawg Post about helping on the recruiting trail when he’ll be in Athens next.

“I’m super happy about the four guys we already have committed on offense”, Montgomery said. “Coach Bobo let me know that our focus now is on the offensive line and the receivers. On the offense line, David Sanders‍  and Juan Gaston‍ are two guys I’m after. Josh Petty‍, Cortez Smith, some other guys too.”

“At wide receiver, I’m trying to bring in Travis Smith Jr.‍ and CJ Wiley‍. Then there’s Jayvan Boggs‍, Marcus Harris‍, Phillip Bell‍, and a few others as well. I’m super excited and ready to hit the ground running. I’m going after the guys want me to help get.”

Montgomery confirmed that he’ll be taking his official visit to Athens the weekend of May 31st. He will “probably” be back in town for another weekend in June to help recruit. That date isn’t known yet but coach Bobo and coach Smart told Montgomery they’ll keep him posted on the best weekend to come back down.

As a junior last fall, Montgomery completed 70% of his passes for 3,300+ yards and 38 passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 10 more scores during his massive 2023 season.

Montgomery is ranked as the No.19 QB prospect and the No. 243 overall prospect in the 2025 class.
