ATHENS - UGA Football is losing one of its running backs to the NCAA transfer portal.
Andrew Paul, who was the was the leading rusher at G Day with 44 yards and a touchdown, will enter the portal the running back said on social media Monday. The move leaves the Dawgs with six running backs on scholarship heading into the 2024 season: Florida transfer Trevor Etienne, Branson Robinson, Roderick Robinson Chauncey Bowens, Nate Frazier and Dwight Phillips. The Bulldogs also have Cash Jones on the roster.
Branson Robinson missed spring practice, but will be back healthy before the start of football camp this fall, UGA coach Kirby Smart told reporters this spring.
Paul suffered an ACL injury as a true freshman. He ended 2023 with 129 yards on 29 carries.
