ATHENS - UGA Football will have a monster home schedule in 2025 - perhaps the biggest in school history.

The Bulldogs will host the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas Longhorns, Ole Miss Rebels and Kentucky Wildcats in Athens. UGA Football will play at Auburn, Mississippi State and Tennessee while also traveling to Jacksonville to face the Gators.

Georgia’s schedule was released on Wednesday along with the rest of the SEC. The eight-game schedule released by the league is a continuation of the policy the conference has in terms of playing eight league games as well as “one required opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 or major independent.”

Georgia’s so-called required opponent from that group is Georgia Tech. The Dawgs will play in Atlanta in 2025.

“We continue to monitor changes across college sports as they relate to future scheduling,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said in a statement. “Continuing with our current format for the 2025 season provides additional time to understand the impact of the changes happening around us as we determine the appropriate long-term plan for SEC football scheduling.”

The SEC said in a statement that dates for league games will be released at “a later time.” 2025 will be the second year of the SEC playing without divisions. It will also be the final year of the 12-team College Football Playoff.

SEC and UGA insiders have been hopeful that the Bulldogs will continue to play Auburn on a yearly basis. That game is one of the legacy rivalry games in the SEC, and it is at risk of not being played in the future because of format changes. Alabama-Tennessee is also being played in 2025. That game is also at risk in the future.
