ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs signed three outstanding backs in the 2024 class, but that doesn’t mean they’re slowing down anytime soon.

Running backs coach Dell McGee is always looking to add more big-time backs to his room, and he already has a good one on the commit list in Cedar Grove (GA) standout, Bo Walker‍.

Over the weekend, Dawg Post caught up with Cedar Grove head coach John Adams to get a better understanding of what Walker brings to the table.

“Bo has it all, man”, Adams told Dawg Post. “He can run between the tackles, catch out of the backfield, has really good balance, runs around a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. He’s a three-sport athlete and it’s been a real blessing to coach him. He’s real coachable and just a fun kid that I really enjoy coaching. I’m looking for big things out of him when he gets to Georgia.”

“He amazes me each and every day”, Adams continued. “This was a really passionate year for him after getting hurt in the playoffs his sophomore year. He finished each and every game. He put the team on his back. He was healthy all season. He plays baseball and runs track in the spring. Coming out of Middle School he was one of the two fastest kids in the state for his class. He’s just a really talented guy and a really hard worker.”

According to FanDuel, the San Francisco 49ers are 6.5-point favorites to defeat the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship this Sunday.

An exceptional overall athlete, Walker is a gifted player who has continued to grow more and more as an overall running back. He’s grown in his craft because he loves to work and has dedicated himself to the game. He’s a quick learner and loves to be coached. His maturity and natural athleticism has allowed him to become not only one of the top running backs in Georgia, but across the South for the 2025 class.

“He went from a really good athlete to a really good running back just by being coachable”, Adams said. “We’ve had some really good running backs in the past and Bo has really grown and developed into a back who can do everything.”

What is Walker working on this off-season?

“Right now he’s resting. We had a really long season and now he’s got two other sports coming up. We’re expecting him to anchor the 4X100 team in track and play some outfield and even pitch a little bit for the baseball team. As far as football goes I think this upcoming season will be a special one for him. He’s definitely a leader on our team.”

When did Walker become a top target for Dell McGee?

“The biggest thing was going down this summer and working in front of Dell McGee. They saw how he moves and he already had great film. I think the best part of his game is that he’s so hard to tackle. Whether he’s using his footwork or trying to run you over or even beat you with speed, he’s not going to let you get a good hit on him. That’s what makes him special.”
