ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA Football added some depth to the QB room today, and then they lost it last night.

Jayden Maiava, who seemed headed to UGA, is now headed to USC. That’s according to longtime west coast recruiting analyst Greg Biggins. Maiava was on the way to UGA Monday night.

A Hawaii native, Maiava is a big-bodied quarterback at 6-foot-4, 220-pounds who threw for 3085 yards last season as a freshman. However, he only threw for 17 touchdowns with 10 INTs.

With Brock Vandagriff transferring to Kentucky and the Dawgs signing just one quarterback in the 2024 class, Smart needed another quarterback for depth purposes. But he will have to explore other options now.
