ATHENS - UGA Football added a five-star flip on Signing Day - taking away 5-star Buford DB K.J. Bolden from Florida State and solidifying the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation.
Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs added Bolden to what is the consensus No. 1 recruiting class of this cycle. Bolden’s announcement puts Georgia at 28 total players committed or signed to UGA’s class.
Getting Bolden to flip to the Bulldogs was a major win for Georgia - although insiders thought he was set to pick the Bulldogs earlier this year when he picked the Noles instead. For months Georgia had only one five-star prospect, Dylan Raiola, committed to them from Buford. But in the last few days Raiola flipped from Georgia to lowly Nebraska while Bolden has done the same from Florida State to the Dawgs.
All told the move nails down another No. 1 class for Kirby Smart. This is the third time since 2018 that Kirby has signed the No. 1 class in the nation. His last two No. 1 classes, 2018 and 2020, powered the Bulldogs to back-to-back national titles featuring players like Zamir White, Jamaree Salyer, Quay Walker, James Cook, Kearis Jackson, Devonte Wyatt, Christopher Smith, Jordan Davis Tramel Walthour, Kelee Ringo, Jalen Carter, Broderick Jones, Darnell Washington, Arian Smith, Arian Smith, Sedrick Van Pran, Nazir Stackhouse, Daijun Edwards and Ladd McConkey.
Georgia’s 2024 class is highlighted by 5-star defensive back Ellis Robinson, who is considered a consensus top-five player in the nation.
“Robinson's long wingspan helps make him one of the nation’s top defenders,” said Dawg Post recruiting insider Matt DeBary. “Not only does he show tremendous hands, but he runs well. Robinson has a great motor and does a great job of making a play on the ball.”

Robinson is one of two consensus top-ten prospects the Bulldogs signed in this class - the other is Texas linebacker Justin Williams.
“Williams is about as real deal as it gets in terms of linebackers,” said DeBary said. “Williams is the definition of a do-it-all linebacker. He's fast-reacting defender with natural instincts and all the God-given talent you could ask for. And the results speak for themselves. Williams made 108 tackles, three INTs, 36 TFLs, 9.5 sacks, and seven forced fumbles as a senior this past fall.
Meanwhile, Raiola’s departure means UGA took only one signal caller this class, but he’s one one insider is looking forward to seeing soon.
“Raiola may be gone, but I’m going to tell you right now that Puglisi is a dog, and I don’t mean the mascot,” said one insider.
Georgia’s offensive line class also got praise from one experienced insider who said: “They’ve got a bunch of bad mother f#*%ers they are about to sign on the offensive line,” the insider commented.
