ATHENS - The early Signing Day perios starts on Wednesday, meaning Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs will sign another elite recruiting class in the 2024 cycle.
Dawg Post gives the latest on when their 2024 commitments turn into official signees...
First in the boat is 4-star RB Chauncey Bowens. The powerful, tackle-breaking back from Florida at 5-foot-11 215-pounds is ranked as the No. 18 RB prospect in the country for the 2024 class.
4-star RB Dwight Phillips, JR. The Pebblebrook (GA) star battled through injuries throughout the 2023 season, but his elite speed and explosiveness could get him on the field early in his career. The speedy back will run track at Pebblebrook this spring and get to Athens this summer.
3-stat TE Colton Heinrich is next. A reliable pass-catcher with a 6-foot-3 230-pound frame, Heinrich does a good job of finishing his runs and powering his way through contact. He’s a physical player and another tight end who can make plays in the passing game.
Next is 4-star WR Nitro Tuggle. The 6-foot-3 185-pounds is a quick, shifty pass-catcher with tremendous ball skills. He’s a big-play wideout who can create separation and find the end-zone. As a senior for Northwood High School in South Bend, Indiana, Tuggle caught 95 passes for 1,449 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Four-star defensive back Demello Jones is another multi-sport star with dynamic playmaking ability. He’s one of the better overall athletes in Georgia with great footwork, instincts, and excellent hands. He can line up almost anywhere on the field and make a big impact. As a senior for Swainsboro (GA), Jones rushed for over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns while 27 tackles and one INT defensively.
4-star DL Jordan Thomas is next to sign with Georgia on Wednesday morning. The 6-foot-5 315-pounder is ranked as the No. 19 DL prospect in the country.
Quintavius Johnson is a three-star from Atlanta out of Mays High School who brings more size and natural athleticism. One of the more underrated players in Georgia’s 2024 class, Johnson is a big athlete who plays both running back and defensive line for his Mays squad. He flashed big play ability when Dawg Post saw him play this season, and he’s had an outstanding senior season this fall.
Copperas Cove (TX) tackle Michael Uini stands at 6-foot-6 335-pounds. He’s ranked as the No. 13 offensive tackle prospect and the No. 164 overall prospect in the 2024 class.
Four-star Justin Greene is a 5-technique style at 6-foot-4 260-pounds who plays hard and has gotten better and better each season. He’s quick off the ball and brings more size and a driven attitude to Georgia’s defense. The Mountain View (GA) standout is ranked as the No 20 DL prospect in the state.
