ATHENS - Former Georgia Bulldog running backs continue to shine in the NFL this season.
On Sunday, 2021 SEC and national champion James Cook helped lead the Buffalo Bills to a big ? victory over the undefeated Miami Dolphins. The second-year player is taking on a bigger role with the Bills who are bound for a big AFC playoff run this winter. Cook’s quickness, versatility, and vision have helped him progress more and more each time he hits the field. Now, he only rushed for 29 yards against the Dolphins, but he did score a touchdown in the big victory. He also caught one pass for 48 yards.
At Georgia, Cook was a major part of Georgia’s 2021 national championship team, rushing for 728 yards and seven touchdowns in his final season two years ago. He was selected in the 2nd round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has given the Bills a true weapon out of the backfield.
According to FanDuel, the Buffalo Bills have +850 odds to win the Super Bowl at the end of the season.
Of course, Cook wasn’t the only former Bulldog to find the end-zone on Sunday.
2017 SEC and Rose Bowl champion D’Andre Swift also scored a touchdown for his hometown Philadelphia Eagles. A former 2nd round pick to the Detroit Lions, Swift is off to a great start to the 2023 season, rushing for 364 yards and two touchdowns through the team’s first four games, including a touchdown run today in the Eagle’s 34-31 victory over the Washington Commanders.
