ATHENS - Another UGA football player has been ticketed for going at least 20 miles an hour over the speed limit.
The Athens Banner-Herald reported Friday that Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, a UGA football defensive lineman, was arrested after being ticketed for going 90 miles an hour in a 70-mile per hour zone in Franklin County, which is in northeast Georgia. Ingram-Dawkins was place under arrest because he didn’t appear for a citation he had previously been issued for parking in a handicapped space.

The outlet reports that it is at least the 14th UGA football player to have a moving violation that’s resulted in a speeding or racing/reckless driving charge since the death of offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy in January.
Last week UGA football offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran Granger told reporters that some of the team had voiced their frustration about the accumulation of tickets the program had gotten in the off-season.
“We’ve been pushing guys to make sure we’re conscious of how we are effecting UGA,” he said. “It’s been understood that we have to do better,” Van Pran said. “We must do better. We know mistakes happen but that doesn’t mean it’s acceptable. Mistakes happen and you own them and move on, but you can’t keep allowing them to happen. A group of guys understood and made sure we get a handle on this.”
Van Pran was one of three players at SEC Media Days for the Bulldogs. He said coach Kirby Smart “tried to emphasize” to players on the team that players “need to take care of the University.”
“We’ve definitely made some mistakes,” Van Pran added. “We want to respect and show love to the people who really support us. Coach Smart has really tried to emphasize to guys that we need to take care of the University. It means a lot to him. I think he’s done a tremendous job of making sure we know what it truly means when we make those mistakes.”
