NASHVILLE - UGA football OL Sedrick Van Pran wasn’t the only one that spoke to teammates about the Dawgs’ speeding getting out of control, but his message was pretty simple.
“A bunch of guys spoke with the team,” he said Tuesday. “We’ve been pushing guys to make sure we’re conscious of how we are effecting UGA.”
Van Pran, Brock Bowers, Kamari Lassiter and Kirby Smart are representing UGA at the SEC’s annual Media Days event. Needless to say, Georgia’s off-the-field off season has been a disappointment.

“We’ve definitely made some mistakes,” Van Pran added. “We want to respect and show love to the people who really support us. Coach Smart has really tried to emphasize to guys that we need to take care of the University. It means a lot to him. I think he’s done a tremendous job of making sure we know what it truly means when we make those mistakes.”
A slew of Bulldogs have been ticketed for speeding and various driving violations. Georgia’s back-to-back national titles would typically be the focus of questioners at Media Days, but Georgia’s offseason has led to as many off-the-field questions as those on it.
“It’s been understood that we have to do better,” Van Pran said. “We must do better. We know mistakes happen but that doesn’t mean it’s acceptable. Mistakes happen and you own them and move on, but you can’t keep allowing them to happen. A group of guys understood and made sure we get a handle on this.”
