ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA Football are expected to travel to play Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide on the road during the 2024 season, according to a report.
This news comes shortly after the reports that Georgia will travel to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns in 2024 as well. Charlie Potter from BamaOnline.com reported that the Dawgs will make the trip to Tuscaloosa at some point during the 2024 campaign. At 7 PM EST on Wednesday, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) will announce the 2024 league schedule.

The last time these two programs faced off in the regular season was during the shortened 2020 season. Alabama won that game 41-24 on its way to an undefeated season and College Football Playoff National Championship victory.
Georgia lost its following matchup against Alabama in the 2021 SEC Championship game, and the program has not lost a football game since, including two national championships.
The SEC schedule will be fully released this evening, but the 2024 season is already shaping up to boast a challenging road schedule for the Dawgs. The expectation has been that Georgia will possibly travel to College Station to take on Texas A&M as well next season, but the totality of the schedule is unclear at the moment.
2023 will be a light year in terms of travel for Georgia, so a 2024 campaign that includes trips to Tuscaloosa, College Station, Jacksonville and Austin, among other ventures, would be a complete turnaround.

Georgia’s only victory over Alabama in the last decade plus was in the national title game two years ago, when the Bulldogs ended its 41-year championship drought.
In addition to Georgia’s SEC schedule, the Dawgs will take on the Clemson Tigers in the season opener in 2024 and face off against in-state rival Georgia Tech at the end of the regular season.
After what many consider to be a down year for Georgia as far as the excitement of the schedule goes, the Dawgs will have plenty of marquee matchups in 2024.
