ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have had the most dominant offensive line in college football for the past two years.

Sorry Michigan fans, but it’s the truth.

Enjoy those Joe Moore awards, but in reality, they don’t matter.

After bullying opposing defenses weekly for the last two years, you could make a real case that Georgia’s 2023 offensive line could be even better.

Sedrick Van Pran is the best center in college football. By a mile, actually.

Amarius Mims COULD be the best right tackle in college football next year, and if everything goes according to plan, he’ll be Georgia’s next offensive lineman to hear his name called in the 1st round of next year’s NFL Draft.

Xavier Truss is arguably the most underrated player on the roster who will bring more experience to the left guard position. He has size, he’s a veteran, and he’s bound for a gigantic season next fall.

Then there’s Tate Ratledge at right guard. A former 5-star and multi-year starter, Ratledge continues to improve and is expected to have a massive final season in 2023.

At left tackle, there’s a “real battle” between veteran Austin Blaske, the most versatile lineman on the roster, and fast-rising second-year player, Earnest Greene II. Whoever wins that job will likely be back for the 2024 season.

So Georgia’s offensive line should dominate once again in 2023. There’s no reason why they shouldn’t.

However, can the Bulldogs keep up this dominance in 2024 and beyond?

Is there another Broderick Jones or Amarius Mims waiting in the wings? How do you replace the best center in college football? It’s never easy to replace two starting guards, either.

Stacy Searles knows he has to replace most of his starters on the offensive line next year, but sources say he’s not concerned.

“Dylan Fairchild and Micah Morris would be starting at multiple other SEC programs”, one source said recently. Dawg Post believes that Searles is excited to get those guys in as many games as possible in 2023. They’re both extremely talented and have patiently waited their turn.

Georgia’s swiss army knife, Austin Blaske, can play every position on the line. If he doesn’t win the left tackle job, sources say he’ll be the No. 2, and many feel he’s the No. 2 center as well behind Van Pran. He’s another player who Dawg Post thinks would be starting at multiple other SEC programs right now.

Monroe Freeling is a true freshman with an incredibly high ceiling. He’s done a great job gaining weight, and when his time comes, he could be Georgia’s next great tackle.

The talent is there. It won’t be easy replacing about four starters after the 2023 season, but the drop-off shouldn’t be significant.

The bullying from Searels’ group will absolutely continue in 2023, and it looks like they’ll continue their dominance for the foreseeable future.
