ATHENS - Georgia Bulldogs OL Broderick Jones was picked No. 14 Overall by Steelers in the 2023 NFL Draft in Kansas City.
This comes after the 6-foot-5 311-pounder out of Lithonia, Georgia ran an impressive 4.97 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in early March along with a 30-inch vertical jump.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart said Jones was eager to hear what he had to say at the end of practice each day.
“Broderick Jones, every day at practice he was the first one to come running up to me; get right in front of me and sit there and listen to every word. He'd say: 'I love you coach'. He has great energy,” Kirby said Thursday.
Jones looked great during Pro Day drills in Athens last month, showing the elite athleticism for the position, quick feet, and long frame that Bulldog fans have seen at left tackle for the last three seasons. He was one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the Draft, and now he’s heading to the NFL.
According to Fanduel, the Steelers currently have +6000 odds to win the Super Bowl next year.
