ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have produced high-level offensive lineman as well as any program in the country over the last several years.

Between Isaiah Wynn, Andrew Thomas, and Jamaree Salyer, every left tackle that has started at Georgia recently has gone on to do big things in the NFL.

Next in line is Broderick Jones, and the athletic left tackle out of Lithonia (GA) has a chance to be the first offensive tackle taken in this month’s NFL Draft. Jones has +450 odds right now to be the first offensive lineman selected in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft according to FanDuel.

We’ve written about it before and it’s the absolute truth. Multiple players have mentioned it in the past. When you fill a roster full of elite players, practices become harder than the games. It’s easier to get better when you’re practicing against the best of the best all season long.

The Georgia Bulldogs only recruit the best, and that allows iron to sharpen iron.

Jones, a former 5-star prospect himself, echoed the same thing and gave somewhat of a recruiting pitch to young, elite high school players who are looking for a place where they can grow and develop each day they’re in the program.

“Being able to play at Georgia prepared me so much”, Jones recently told NFL Total Access. “Going against so much. Going against so many different first-rounders at all times. Practice makes perfect. That’s what we’ve always said. So going against Nolan (Smith), Azeeez (Ojulari), Travon (Walker), just everybody. Being able to come out on game day and prove what I can do.”

That’s what happens at Georgia. If you follow the process and work hard each and every day, it’s hard not to succeed.

Jones was part of Georgia’s outstanding 2020 class, and when he arrived to Athens, he had his work cut out for him. He had to block multiple future NFL first-round picks, and it made the former 5-star better. He wasn’t practicing against scrubs every day. He was going against the best of the best in college football, and it allowed him to transform into a future first-round pick.

Jones stayed the course, worked his butt off, learned from the older guys in front of him, and practiced against elite players every day. And in a few short weeks, that hard work will turn him into a millionaire.

As good as he already was, Jones can thank Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs for building a monster of a program that helped him be the very best that he could be.
