ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs started spring practice on Tuesday, but on Wednesday, all eyes were on Georgia’s Pro Day where multiple Bulldogs looked to increase their NFL Draft Stock.
One person who continues to move up draft board is senior outside linebacker, Nolan Smith. A former 5-star prospect from Savannah, Georgia, Smith was one of the leaders of Georgia’s last two national championship teams.
Smith turned heads at the NFL Combine earlier this month, running a blazing 4.39 40-yard dash. He also showed off his 41.5” vertical. Both of those measurements are the best among “defensive lineman” in this year’s combine.
For reference of how fast he is, NFL superstar running backs Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkely did not run that fast. His 40-yard dash time is also faster than many star wide receivers in the league.
His was impressive during Georgia’s Pro Day going through position drills in fromt of multiple NFL scouts in Athens on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3 235-pounder was a multi-year starter at Georgia who saw his senior season cut short after he tearing a pectoral muscle against the Florida Gators in late October. As a senior in 2022, Smith started in eight games, making 18 tackles, seven TFLs, three sacks, and 16 QB hurries.
For his career, Smith made 114 tackles, 21 TFLs, 11.5 sacks, one INT, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one blocked punt.
After a stellar performance at the NFL Combine and during today’s Pro Day, Smith should expect to see his name called in the 1st round of the 2023 NFL Draft next month.
