ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs had a special defensive back come through the program a few years ago in former 5-star Kelee Ringo.

One of the top overall prospects in the country for the 2020 class, Ringo played at Saguaro High School in Arizona before becoming a legend at the University of Georgia.

After watching teammate Nolan Smith put on a show during the NFL Combine on Thursday, it’s Ringo’s turn to drop some jaws himself on Friday.

After a tremendous Georgia career, Ringo has been training on the west coast with Tracy Ford, and is being mentored by former NFL superstar cornerback, Richard Sherman.

At 6-foot-2 210-pounds, Ringo, who came to Georgia as one of the fastest prospects in his class, will be looking to run in the 4.3 range on Friday. If he does, look for his stick to skyrocket towards the top of the first round.

As good as he already is, and with his unique blend of size and speed, you can bet that working with Richard Sherman has made him even better over the last several weeks. Sherman is a future Hall-of-Famer and Super Bowl Champion with the Seattle Seahawks. He’s a former player out of Stanford who has an incredibly high football IQ, so this appears to be a dream scenario for Ringo as he prepares for his big day tomorrow.

The legendary Georgia cornerback picked off four passes in his Bulldog career, with the biggest being his pick-6 against Alabama in the 2022 national championship game, sealing the victory and bringing Georgia their first national championship since 1980.

Ringo was excellent as a junior this past season, making 37 solo tackles and intercepting two passes during the season. His two INTs this season came against Kentucky on the road and against Tennessee in Sanford Stadium.

The outstanding defensive back will leave Georgia as a two-time national champion. The goal going into college was to play three years and enter the NFL. Now, that goal has been accomplished.

In addition to his 4 INTs, Ringo also made 76 total tackles in his career, one sack, one forced fumble, 15 pass deflections, and one national championship-winning touchdown.
