ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have one of the fastest wide receivers in the South committed in the 2024 class, and the South Georgia star isn’t going anywhere.
Speedy 4-star receiver Ny Carr out of Colquitt County (GA) has been committed to Bryan McClendon since early July of 2022, and while he’s taken unofficial visits elsewhere this year, the explosive wideout said this week that he’s “100% locked in” with the Bulldogs.
This is big news as Carr will bring more speed and big-play ability to Georgia’s receiver room next year. He may not be the biggest receiver around at 6-foot-0 170-pounds, but his burst, quickness, and overall explosiveness make him one of the best not only in the peach state, but across the South for his class.
As a junior last fall, Carr caught 62 passes for 1,051 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Who are some other receivers looking Georgia’s way in the 2024 class? Let’s take a look...

Of course, Carr isn’t the only in-state receiver committed to Georgia right now. The Bulldogs also have a commitment from three-star Sacovie White, an impressive route-runner with dependable ball skills out of Cass High School in North Georgia. The 5-foot-10 175-pounder confirmed to Dawg Post that the only official visit he plans on taking is to the University of Georgia.
White is ranked by Dawg Post as the No. 33 player in Georgia for the 2024 class.
Then you have the big five-star target in Ohio State commitment Jeremiah Smith. The top-ranked receiver in the country, Smith is a big 6-foot-3 185-pounder out of Chaminade-Madonna Prep (FL) who plans to get back to Athens at some point this spring.
“I’m trying to figure out a date right now with Coach BMac about a possible visit. Coach BMac has kept Georgia involved in my recruitment.”
Smith caught 58 passes last season for 1,073 yards and 20 touchdowns. While he’s still committed to the Buckeyes, Smith remains a Bulldog target to know about.
4-star Aaron Butler is another wide receiver to know about in the 2024 class. The California native out of Calabassas High School caught 38 passes for 830 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He was in Athens in late January for an unofficial visit and will be back in the Classic City for an official visit the weekend of April 14th. At 6-foot-1 180-pounds, Butler has good size and shows explosiveness with the ball in his hands. A weapon on special teams as a returner as well, Butler has a natural feel for the game with burst and big-time speed. An easy vertical threat with reliable hands, he’s a real weapon in the passing game and terrific after the catch.
