ATHENS - It’s the absolute worst time of the year for Georgia Bulldog sports fans.

The football season just ended, and there’s not another Bulldog football game until September. Spring practice hasn’t started yet. The Georgia baseball team doesn’t play for another month and a half.

All there is to watch, if you have the stomach for it, is Georgia basketball. Yikes.

A program that should NEVER be as bad as they consistently are, the Mike White-led Bulldogs have lost 5 of their last 6 games and have been blown out in embarrassing fashion in their last three losses to Tennessee, Auburn, and Texas A&M.

It isn’t pretty right now, but of course, it never is.

The glory days, if you want to call them that, are buried in the past. There’s no Dominique Wilkins walking through the program anytime soon, but the NBA Hall-of-Famer’s son could be a decent option.

Just about two weeks ago, the Bulldogs offered Wilkins’s son, Jacob Wilkins, a sophomore wing at Parkview High School. The young 6-foot-8 160-pounder also earned an offer from Alabama recently.

Of course, everyone knows who Dominique is. He’s the best basketball player in Georgia Bulldog history. He’s also recognized by many as the greatest player in Atlanta Hawks history as well. In his 16-year NBA career, Wilkins averaged an impressive 24.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

One of the greatest dunkers in NBA history, Wilkins’ style of play was always fun to watch. His ability to jump and play above the rim is what made him one of the best of his time.

If Georgia can land Jacob down the road, maybe he can bring a little flare to Georgia’s roster like his old man did.

Right now, the Alabama Crimson Tide are the favorites to win the SEC Regular Season Title with -600 odds according to FanDuel.
