ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs are back-to-back national champions, and the future in Athens is extremely bright.

With Kirby Smart leading the way, and Todd Monken calling plays offensively, it’s clear the Bulldogs aren’t going away anytime soon.

They’ll be starting a new quarterback in 2023, and they have one of the very best quarterbacks in high school already committed in the 2024 class in four-star, Ryan Puglisi‍.

The talented gunslinger out of Avon Old Farms (CT) committed to Georgia on October 16th and was back in Athens over the weekend to celebrate Georgia’s second-consecutive championship.

The 6-foot-3 205-pounder spoke with Dawg Post about his visit.

“My favorite part about the visit was being able to see the whole staff again and how they always make me feel like I am at home”, Puglisi said. “I love everyone there, and I love what UGA stands for. I am so excited to be a Dawg. UGA is a very special place because of how successful they are in everything they do. They do everything at a very high level. Also, just want to say prayers to Devin Willock, and Chandler Lecroy. A true tragedy and their families and the University have my condolences and heart.”

Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken started to evaluate Puglisi early in 2022, and after getting Puglisi on campus for a workout last June, Monken and the staff extended an offer and immediately took the lead in his recruitment. Georgia’s elite play-caller made sure to spend lots of time with Puglisi this weekend while he was back in the Classic City.

“Also meeting with Coach Smart early in the morning was definitely a highlight of the weekend. He always treats my family amazing. I was with coach Monken all weekend. We basically spent every second together. His offense is incredible, something that I cannot wait to work in. I am super excited to get Developed under him.”

Puglisi checks all the boxes at quarterback. He has impressive arm strength, he’s consistently accurate, shows great footwork in the pocket, and can take off with his legs for a big gain. He understands the position, has a high football IQ, and has the potential to make every throw at the collegiate level.

In just nine games as a junior in 2022, Puglisi was 133/207 passing (63%) for 1,904 yards (211 ypg) with 16 TDs and just four INTs. He also ran for 14 touchdowns on the year.
