LOS ANGELES - The Georgia Bulldogs have done it.

Back to back national championships. College football’s worst nightmare.

The first title was decided at the very end, but this one was over early on.

Kirby Smart and his team made TCU look like a JV squad. Like they were Vanderbilt of Florida. It was an absolute bloodbath in So-Fi Stadium. One that you rarely see in a championship game.

Offensively, the Bulldogs had no problem with TCU’s 3-3-5. They ran the ball extremely well and bullied the Frogs up and down the field all game long during their massive 65-7 victory. Whether it was on the ground of through the air, Georgia did everything they wanted too in this one.

Stetson Bennett got Georgia on the board with a rushing touchdown on their first drive of the game. After a field goal on their second possession, Bennett would find Ladd McConkey wide open down the field for another touchdown to put Georgia back up 10.

Then another score. And another score. And another score. Then I lost count.

By halftime, Georgia had a comfortable 38-7 lead. The game was over. Georgia fans in So-Fi Stadium knew it. The Toad fans knew it.

Georgia was bigger, faster, stronger, deeper, and more talented across the board. It just didn’t seem fair at times.

Quarterback Steetson Bennett was sensational in his final game as a Bulldog. The bigger the game, the better he plays. He gets to ride off in the sunset as a two-time national champion quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Bennett gave a legendary performance in the big win, going 18/25 with 304 yards and four passing touchdowns to go along with 39 rushing yards and two more scores.

Brock Bowers might be pound-for-pound the best player in college football next season. He was brilliant in Georgia’s championship victory, catching seven passes for 152 yards and one touchdown.

Defensively, Javon Bullard continued to make play after play. The Peach Bowl Defensive MVP had himself another excellent ballgame, picking off two passes and recovering a 1st-quarter TCU fumble.

Chris Smith played great. Kelee Ringo played great. So did Bear Alexander, Mykel Williams, Smael Mondon, and a lot of other Bulldogs.

This was a complete team effort. They were the best team in college football all season long and ended their 15-0 season with a dominant championship victory.

No drama in this one.
