ATHENS - It’s Georgia Tech week in Athens, and the Georgia Bulldogs are looking to get fully healthy as we approach the end of the 2022 regular season.

Head coach Kirby Smart gave some injury updates on some of his top players during his Monday press conference.

On star receiver A.D Mitchell, Smart said he’s coming along but still isn’t doing some 11-on-11 work. It certainly doesn’t appear we’ll see him back in action against the Yellow Jackets this weekend.

“AD was similar last week as he's been to the previous weeks. I mean, he did run. He had a little few higher speeds. And he did some individual drills. He didn't do teamwork, like, 11-on-11 teamwork. And that's the goal. You know, that's the goal each week, to get him out there to do 11-on-11 and take some reps.”

Offensive lineman Tate Ratledge has had an up and down season at guard, and since he isn’t 100%, reserve lineman Devin Willock was able to get some quality reps in against Kentucky last weekend. There’s a good chance we’ll see Ratledge back out there this weekend when Georgia Tech comes to town.

“Tate had a shoulder subluxation” Smart said. “And, again, he probably could have gone in the game. It's one of those things he checked out before the game last week and we weren't comfortable putting him in and wanted to give Devin a chance to play.”

Smart was asked about star defender Nolan Smith as well during his press conference and confirmed Smith will be out for the rest of the 2022 season.

“Nolan's surgery was a repair. And he'll be out -- hopefully make it back to his workouts and his combine stuff.”

The Georgia Bulldogs (11-0) will host rival Georgia Tech (5-6) in Athens this upcoming weekend. The game will be played at 12:00 EST on ESPN. Georgia is listed as a 35.5-point favorite to beat Tech according to FanDuel.

The Bulldogs have won the last four meetings in the rivalry and have won 17 out of the last 20 games dating back to 2001.
