ATHENS - With plenty of 5-stars in town last weekend to watch Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs take down the then-ranked No. 1 Tennessee Volunteers in Athens.

Not only was the 2022 season on the line, but this was a major opportunity for the Georgia program to impress some of the nation’s top prospects. There were a few 2023 prospects in town for official visits, but some of the nation’s best in the 2024 class were in town as well.

One major 2024 target, 5-star ATH KJ Bolden‍, spoke with Dawg Post about his visit and what impressed him the most.

“I was impressed with how Georgia shut down Tennessee’s high-profile offense”, Bolden said. “Georgia was well prepared for the fast pace and did not struggle. I spent time with Coach Fran Brown and Coach Smart and as always it was a pleasure and enjoyed every second.”

Bolden, a track star with the potential to make plays on both sides of the ball at the next level, said that the Georgia staff is recruiting him as an “athlete”.

At 6-foot-1 185-pounds, he’s an explosive receiver with big play ability, but he’s an outstanding defensive back prospect as well. He’s one of the fastest prospects not only in Georgia, but across the South in the 2024 class.

He’s a MAJOR target for the Georgia staff in the 2024 class and Dawg Post has him ranked as the No. 2 prospect in Georgia for his class.

It’s clear the Sanford Stadium noise made a big impact on Bolden while he was in town.

“Man, the crowd went crazy”, Bolden said. “The environment was electric and the fans stepped up big time for the team. Even the rain, they stayed to support the team. That’s love.”

According to the 247 Composite Rankings, Bolden is ranked as the No. 1 ATH, the No. 2 prospect in Georgia, and the No. 4 prospect in the country.

The explosive, game-changing prospect out of Buford (GA) is one Georgia fans should keep a close eye on for the next 12-14 months. He has offers from just about every major program in the country, and sources say the in-state Georgia Bulldogs made a giant impression on the 5-star prospect this weekend.
