ATHENSKirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs will take on Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Vols on Saturday, November 5th at Sanford Stadium on CBS, the network announced on Monday.

The game is expected to be a fight between top-five teams. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 1 after a dominating 7-0 start to the season. The Vols just knocked off previously undefeated No. 3 Alabama at Neyland Stadium. It was the Vols’ first win over their rivals in a decade and a half.

Georgia has beaten the Vols with lopsided scores since 2016. In 2017, Nick Chubb and the Bulldogs hammered Tennessee 41-0 at Neyland. A year later, Georiga beat Tennessee 38-12. In 2019, Georgia’s 43-14 win over the Vols came at night.

The Dawgs beat No. 14 Tennessee 44-21 in Sanford Stadium in 2020. Last year, Georgia’s national championship team beat Hendon Hooker and the Vols 41-17 in Knoxville

Kirby Smart’s only loss to Tennessee came in 2016 when the No. 11 Vols hit a Hail Mary to take home an unlikely 34-31 Between the Hedges.

2022 GEORGIA BULLDOGS SCHEDULE

Georiga beat Auburn 42-10 on CBS earlier this season. The Dawgs will take on the Florida Gators in Jacksonville on CBS this Saturday. Georiga is 10-2 against the Vols since 2010. The game between the two SEC East powers is one of the most-watched games in college football.

Since 2012, Georgia-Tennessee has an average viewership of 3.6 million viewers. Last year’s game, which had 5.8 million viewers, was the most-watched game between the two schools of late - narrowly edging out the 2020 Georgia win, and the Dawgs’ wild overtime win in 2013.

Georgia has an off week this weekend before traveling to Jacksonville to take on the Gators. Meanwhile, the Vols have home dates with Tennessee-Martin and No. 19 Kentucky before the clash with the Dawgs at Sanford Stadium.
