ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs remain at No. 1 in the latest AP poll after their dominating shutout victory over Vanderbilt in Sanford Stadium this past weekend.

It hasn’t been the easiest road for the Bulldogs so far, but they’ve only had one real test this year which came on the road against Missouri. Georgia dominated Oregon, a team that now looks good again, South Carolina, Auburn, Vanderbilt, along with cupcakes Samford and Kent State.

The national champions now have a much-need off week before heading down to Jacksonville to beat down on the Gators. That should be a fun one for Georgia fans.

Then comes Tennessee. The finally-relevant Volunteers just won their biggest game in about 25 years this weekend they beat a soft, undisciplined Alabama team at home. The Crimson Tide had the game in their hands but gave the Vols life at the end of regulation where they kicked a game-winning field goal.

Now, the Vols are ranked No. 3 in the country. The Tennessee offense is explosive and arguably the best in college football. Their defense? Incredibly suspect. This will be the biggest Tennessee football game since their national championship victory at the end of the 1998 season. Expect Sanford Stadium to be as loud as possible on November 5th.

But right now, the Georgia Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in the country. They’ve earned it, and with an off week before Florida, the Bulldogs will be tough to beat as they continue to get healthy over the next two weeks.
