ATHENS - After multiple reports surface this morning, with the first coming form UGA Sports, Dawg Post has confirmed with multiple sources say defender Marlin Dean is no longer with the Georgia football program.
A former 3-star defensive lineman from Elbert County (GA) who also played for IMG Academy, Dean was signed by Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs in the 2021 class and was one of the lower-ranked players in the class.
The 6-foot-6 265-pounder was a scout-team member last year but did see playing time in Georgia’s win over Charleston Southern where he made two tackles in the victory.
Buried on the depth chart, it’s easy to imagine that Dean would want to head somewhere else and start a new journey. While it’s unknown that he has entered the transfer portal, Dawg Post has just been told that he is no longer on the roster.
Dean becomes the 14th Bulldog to leave the program since the end of the 2021 season and second defensive lineman along with Tymon Mitchell. We beleive the Bulldogs are now at 88 scholarship players on the roster with Dean no longer with the program.
The Georgia Bulldogs have +350 odds of winning their 2nd straight national championship this season according to FanDuel.
