If you’ve never head about Coleman, that’s alright. He’s a young, talented back out of Pennsylvania who got the green light to commit to Dell McGee and the Georgia Bulldogs.
He may not play against the best competition up in Philadelphia, which doesn’t nearly have the talent Atlanta does, but he certainly has SEC potential at 6-foot-0 205-pounds. He runs well for his size, breaks tackles, and has plenty of speed for someone over 200-pounds. He makes it look easy against lower-level defenses, but Dell McGee likes him, and that’s all that matters.
Assistant Fran Brown knows the area extremely well and helped get Coleman into the fold.
Coleman has great size for his age, but doesn’t need to get much bigger. If he can add more speed and explosiveness while continuing to add muscle, Coleman has the potential to be one of the best backs across the country in the 2025 class. He dominated last year as a freshman, and he’ll only get better over the next several years.
Will Coleman end up signing with Georgia in a few years? Statistics say he won’t as he continues to add more offers and take more visits over the next several years. You can also expect the Bulldogs to sign an excellent back in the 2023 class, and they’ll likely sign two in the 2024 class as well.
As a freshman last fall, Coleman rushed 37 times for 380 yards and 5 touchdowns. Look for those numbers to improve this fall as he earns more carries and other opportunities to touch the ball.
