ATHENS - It’s one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the summer.
Georgia’s annual “Find Kirby Smart” scavenger hunt weekend.
When the Georgia Bulldogs have some of the nation’s top prospects on campus, the staff puts together a scavenger hunt that takes the prospects and their families across campus to see what the school and program has to offer. The scavenger hunt ends with the prospect finding Kirby Smart at a particular location in town.
It’s a great way for Georgia’s top targets to enjoy Athens, walk around campus, and get a feel for one of the best college towns in America.
The Bulldogs had multiple official visitors in town this weekend, and there were plenty of top 2024 targets in town for the scavenger hunt as well.
Here’s a short list of prospects who participated in the annual scavenger hunt...
5-star DL Jayden Wayne:
A 5-star target from Washington, Wayne is no starnger to Athens and was in town for the Charleston Souther game last fall and G-Day last month. He’s a major target in this class, but the staff will have to likely fight off Alabama in the end for one of the top EDGE defenders in the country.
4-star DT Sydir Mitchell Jr.
Another important official visitor, Mitchell Jr. is a massive defensive tackle with strength and size at 6-foot-5 335-pounds. He’s an impressive nose guard prospect who can take on double teams and clog running holes between the tackles. The four-star from New Jersey is one of the top defensive prospects in the Northeast, but he’ll likely come down South to play at the next level. Right now, Dawg Post feels very good about where Georgia sits in his recruitment. He’ll take his official visit to Texas A&M the weekend of June 24th and a commitment could come soon after.
4-star DE Dashawn Womack
A 4-star DL with versatility out of St. Frances Academy (MD), the 6-foot-4 255-pounder defender is one of the top overall prospects in Maryland for the 2023 class, ranked No. 4 overall in the state. He can play on the EDGE when he gets to the next level, but could also move inside down the road as he adds more weight and muscle. He shows burst off the line and knows how to attack the quarterback.
4-star OT Monroe Freeling:
The Bulldogs already have one impressive 2023 OT on the commit list, and assistant Stacy Searles would love to add another in Freeling, a 6-foot-7 280-pounder out of Oceanside Collegiate Academy (SC). He’s long, athletic, and sources say the Bulldogs have quietly climbed up in his recruitment this spring. He’s one of the top tackle prospects in the South, and getting him on campus this weekend was a big win for the staff.
4-star LB Grayson Howard:
An impressive linebacker our of Jacksonville, Howard was a tackling machine last season as he made 157 total stops, 14 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and 2 INTs. He has an official visit to Georgis scheduled the weekend of June 10th, but he made sure to get to Athens this weekend as well. Some sources beleive Georgia is a team to watch if he has a committable offer. Howard is also scheduled to visit Florida and South Carolina in June. The Bulldogs recently made Howard’s top 5 along with Florida, Clemson, South Carolina, and Texas A&M.
5-star ATH Sammy Brown:
One of the top overall prospects in the country for the 2024 class, Brown is an eelite LB target who knows how to run the football. A track star, weight room warrior, and dynamic athlete on the gridiron, Brown was unstoppable for the first few games last year before going down with a season-ending injury. The Jefferson (GA) standout is the No. 1 prospect in Georgia for the 2024 class according to Dawg Post, and sources say he’s a MAJOR target for assistant Glenn Schumann for next year’s class.
4-star OL Daniel Calhoun:
The top-ranked OL prospect in Georgia for the 2024 clalss according to Dawg Post, Calhoun is a massive tackle prospect at 6-foot-6 330+ pounds who first earned his offer under Matt Luke. The Roswell native out of Centennial High School is a very impressive-looking prospeect for his age due to his size, footwork, toughness, and overall strength. He can bully opposing defenders and he’s a national recruit already in the 2024 class.

4-star RB Jeremiyah Love (Christian Brothers College, MO)
5-star QB Jadyn Davis - 2024 - (Providence Day School, NC)
