ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs’ annual G Day game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 the network announced Tuesday.

The game will start at 1 PM. Joe Tessitore, Greg McElroy and Katie George will be on the call for the telecast featuring the defending national champions. Georgia beat No. 1 Alabama 33-18 in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in Indianapolis in January.

Georgia is one of the only two programs that will have their spring game on television rather than streaming. USC’s game on April 23 will be shown on ESPN. All other major college programs will be featured either on the ACC Network, the SEC Network or streaming exclusively on the SEC Network+.

Kirby Smart is entering his seventh season coaching at Georgia. The spoke Tuesday about the Bulldogs’ upcoming spring practices - saying the program is doing its best to find the identity off this team.

“We're certainly not deep enough at several positions, but I'm not here to cry about it.  I'm here to solve it and figure it out and get the best guys.  That's what you do as a coach, right?  You coach the players.  So that movement for us has been long past.  I think that will be the play and the talk of the media for last year, but not us.  We're really worried about creating an identity for this team,” he said. ‘’We're in the identity phase.  Spring practice is let's figure who are we?  Let's figure out who we are by how we practice.  I think we'll see that over the next 15 practices.’’
