Athens– The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs are now 8-0 on the season after handling Florida defensively, and what is the reward the media was given? Exactly eight minutes to view practice on Monday.
Last week, Stetson Bennett got the start. Insiders told Dawg Post that he just had the better week in practice and that he and JT Daniels split reps fairly evenly.
Kirby Smart was available to the media in person, and he is confident in both his quarterbacks, just as the players have expressed their backing of both guys.
Are the Georgia Bulldogs getting healthy at the right time? It is no secret they have been extremely banged up all year, but a few players seem to be trending in the right direction.
What went on during the open period:
- Stetson Bennett
- Took reps ahead of JT Daniels
- Started off working on zone reads
- He was practicing as the ballcarier
- Threw a dime to Brock Bowers
- One of the better throws I have seen him make (practice or game)
- In the one rep I saw for 7-on-7 drills, he was the first team quarterback
- JT Daniels
- Took reps behind Bennett
- Last week, during the open period, he took reps ahead of Stetson Bennett
- Looked crisp
- I did not see any noticeable rust
- I think he will play on Saturday, but he needs to have a good week in practice
- Took reps behind Bennett
- George Pickens
- Still wearing a black non-contact jersey, BUT there were a couple of small differences
- He wore a leg sleeve and brace. The brace looked to be a little smaller/less complex than what he has been wearing
- Running routes as if he never got hurt. He looks really shifty and athletic
- Made a sweet one-handed catch
- Most importantly, he was dancing around and having fun. He is trending in the right direction
- Dominick Blaylock
- After not practicing last Monday, he was president today
- Wore the red contact jersey and did not seem to have any limitations
- He is also trending in the right direction
- It is too early to say he will make an appearance against Missouri
- He is a talented player, so the more weapons they have, the better
- Kendall Milton
- Not present at practice
- Arian Smith
- Contact jersey
- No limitations
- Speed was obvious
- Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
- Same deal as Arian Smith minus the world-class speed
