BREAKING: Georgia Bulldogs Announce Stetson Bennet IV As Probable Starter Against UAB

ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs may have another QB controversy on their hands now that J.T Daniels is out with an oblique injury.
Dawg Post reported that Daniels played hurt against Clemson in the season opener and that he shared 1st-team reps with backup QB Carson Beck in practice as early as Monday.
Head coach Kirby Smart told reporters this week that backup Carson Beck, a second-year player from Jacksonville, was the No.2 quarterback on the roster, and over the last few days insiders have told Dawg Post that Beck would be one who gets the start if Daniels couldn’t go.
Instead, Kirby Smart and Todd Monken decided to go in a different direction and start veteran Stetson Bennett IV who played for most of the 2020 season before getting injured against the
Gators.
The staff must feel that Bennett IV, a former walk-on, is the safest option today against a respectable UAB squad. You would think the team’s No.2 option would be given an opportunity in a situation like this, but Carson Beck will have to wait a little longer to get his first real regular season action.
In six games last season, Bennett went 86/155 for 1,179 yards and 8 touchdowns while throwing two INTs. It’s unclear whether Beck will come into today’s game against the Blazers, but if things don't go well with Bennett early on, we should absolutely see Beck get his chance to lead the offense.
