The game, which was broadcast on ESPN2, was a bounce-back win for the Wildcats, who lost at Jefferson eight days ago. But tonight Stockton would not be denied. He threw for 382 yards and ran for 105. Stockton’s total of 487 yards is not an uncommon performance for him.

“As a runner, Stockton knows how to dissect defenses and can take off the second he sees an opening. He’s an excellent runner and moves well for someone at 220-pounds. He’s quicker than most linebackers at the next level and he’s tough to bring down by one defensive back by himself,” Dawg Post recruiting expert Matt DeBary said in describing Stockton’s ability to run the ball.

Meanwhile, Stockton is on pace to re-write the passing records in Georgia and should end his time at Rubun County with one of the best careers of any quarterback in state history.

As a junior last fall, Stockton threw for 3,128 yards and 46 TDs. He also rushed 191 times for 1,581 yards and 26 touchdowns. Coming into the 2021 season, Stockton has thrown for 9,518 yards and 122 touchdowns while also rushing for 3,416 yards and 70 touchdowns.

Stockton told ESPN after the game that he and Georgia target Oscar Delp are planning on being at the Georgia-Clemson game next Saturday night in Charlotte.
