The Georgia Bulldogs have landed ANOTHER 5-star QB commitment.

This time it’s in-state gunslinger Gunner Stockton‍ of Rabun County (GA).

The four-year starter at Rabun County is a former South Carolina commitment who backed off his pledge to the Gamecocks after their new head coaching change. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, a family friend of the Stocktons, left South Carolina for Auburn, and that put the Tigers back into the race.

In the end, even Auburn’s hire of Mike Bobo couldn’t swing Stockton their way, and now he’s committed to Georgia.

At 6-foot-1 220-pounds, Stockton is a true dual-threat QB who can make plays with both his arms and his legs. He’s fundamentally sound, extremely accurate, and has SEC-caliber arm strength. He has impressive arm talent overall and is ahead of the curve from a technical standpoint. He has great feet in the pocket, but he also has a quick release that allows him to zip the ball all over field. He can also push the ball downfield as well as any quarterback in the country.

As a runner, Stockton knows how to dissect defenses and can take off the second he sees an opening. He’s an excellent runner and moves well for someone at 220-pounds. He’s quicker than most linebackers at the next level and he’s tough to bring down by one defensive back by himself.

Stockton is on pace to re-write the passing records in Georgia and will have one of the best careers of any quarterback in state history.

As a junior last fall, Stockton threw for 3,128 yards and 46 TDs. He also rushed 191 times for 1,581 yards and 26 touchdowns. For his career, Stockton has thrown for 9,518 yards and 122 touchdowns while also rushing for 3,416 yards and 70 touchdowns.

He’s a true 5-star prospect who can hurt defenses in so many different ways. He’s a special talent, and he’s staying home to play for the Bulldogs.
