ATHENS - Georgia Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart said after UGA’s scrimmage on Saturday that he expects receiver Jermaine Burton to be fine.
Burton suffered an injury during Tuesday’s practice at UGA.
“Jermaine Burton is fine,” Smart said. “He has no structural damage. He was out there today doing exercises and conditioning. Jermaine Burton is going to be fine. Jermaine hyperextended his knee. He’s day to day. That’s what it is. He’s not anything past that.”
The Bulldogs have already lost playmaking receiver George Pickens to an ACL this spring. Today Arian Smith suffered a minor injury as well.
“He sprained his wrist,” Smart said. “He should be fine. I don’t know if he will be back Monday. I don’t know that - they are still doing the X-rays. He sprained his wrist.”
Smart went on to add that injuries should be expected in the spot.
“It is all a part of football,” he said. “We had other guys get injured today, but it is a lot bigger deal when it is a receiver. The receivers are going to be fine.”
