Could UGA Get Demetris Robertson to Play in 2018?
ATHENS - It looks like the Demetris Robertson saga has finally come to an end.
The roller coaster that was his recruitment started a few years ago when the former five-star athlete had college football fans, mostly Georgia fans, on the edge of their seat. The Savannah native was a major Bulldog target for new head coach Kirby Smart, but the elite receiver chose Cal over Georgia and Alabama in one of the most awkward commitment ceremonies of all time. That in itself will be another story for another time, but two years later, the Bulldogs have finally got one of their top targets from the 2016 class.
After an impressive freshman season followed by an injury-ridden sophomore season at Cal, the former five-star is headed back to Georgia to play his remaining college days in Athens.

So what is Georgia getting in Robertson?
Well, he's still the same elite playmaker he was back in high school. Robertson is a speedy receiver with excellent ball skills and the ability to create separation from defenders. He does a nice job of consistently getting open, he is a good route runner, and will make an impact the second he's available.
So when is he available? That's the question on everyone's mind.
Most are under the assumption that he will have to sit out the first year. Depending on the exact reason for the transfer, Robertson, and most likely even Kirby Smart, will appeal to the NCAA to get him playing in 2018.
Time will tell, but it's clear Robertson is still a high impact guy who will help the team from day 1.
It might have been two years down the road, but it's another 5-star headed to Georgia.
