UGA Freshman Kelee Ringo Has Shoulder Surgery
Dawg Post has confirmed that Bulldog freshman cornerback Kelee Ringo underwent shoulder surgery this week to repair a torn labrum, likely costing him the entire fall.
The story was first reported by UGAsports.com.
Dawg Post was on top of Ringo’s recruitment the entire way, ever since the Bulldogs offered him in July of 2018. The 5-star from Saguaro (AZ) chose the Bulldogs over Oregon and Texas during the All-American Bowl, and was hoping to see the field as a freshman in a backup role.
The Georgia secondary is one of the best in the nation, so Ringo would not have seen extensive playing time there early on. His speed, ball skills, and explosive playmaking ability could have given him a shot on special teams, but now that he’s had shoulder surgery, there’s a good chance he might sit out for the entire season.
