Julio Jones Has Big Take on Todd Gurley

Julio Jones said Todd Gurley has something to prove, and he’s ready to see it. 

Jones said he talked with Gurley after the 2019 season, and said that he would be a nice addition for the Falcons. 

“I feel like he would have been a good fit here,” Jones said of his new teammate. “The physicality he brings. And the way he runs the ball. Everything.”

Gurley has racked up 5,404 yards and 58 touchdowns on the ground with 218 receptions for 2,090 yards during his five-year career in the NFL. The Falcons signed the North Carolina native to a one-year contract for the 2020 season. 

Gurley’s $5.5 million contract allowed him to play professionally in the same state he played in college - something rare for former Bulldogs. 

“He did all he could do - making sure he’s ready to go,” Jones added. “Everyone is always talking about they don’t know what Todd is going to be, but I am pretty sure if you asked him he’s going to show you at the end of the day what Todd Gurley is all about.”
