UGA Opens at No. 3 in Coaches' Poll
ATHENS - UGA opened up at the No. 3 team in the Coaches’ Poll today.
The Bulldogs open practice on Friday. The coaches voted the Bulldogs No. 4 going into the 2018 season. The ranking matches expectations that the Bulldogs will reach the College Football Playoff for the second time in coach Kirby Smart’s tenure.
Georgia lost to Teas in the Sugar Bowl to conclude the 2018 season at 11-3.
Clemson starts the 2019 season as the No. 1 team in the country for the first time in school history. Alabama checks in at No. 2. Meanwhile, Oklahoma is ranked No. 4 with Ohio State at No. 5.
Georgia will take on four teams ranked in the poll’s top 16 - No. 8 Florida, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 11 Texas A&M and No. 16 Auburn.
