Because the money outweighed the cost. What did MLB really do that costs out of pocket money? Almost nothing. They have to buy tests.
Sure, they are forgetting fans at games and the revenue that brings. However, that doesn't actually cost more than if they just didn't play because of COVID.
As for bubbles, obviously, if you never interact with a person who has the virus, you will never get it. You can only achieve this through a very strict bubble.
Is the NBA bubble actually going to work? I have my doubts.
