Wow, what a **** show this has become.
When it came out that a someone had hung a noose in Bubba Wallace's garage stall, NASCAR and every media organization and personality assumed it was true before ever getting the facts. They all assumed it was one of those "racist redneck white boys from Alabama" who planted that noose. Every radio host on Sirius XM jumped on the bandwagon and just went kn and on about all these racist NSCAR fans.
Anyone who dared say anything about this incident being a possible misunderstanding or hoax (because there is precedent for this) was called all kinds of horrible names - racist, POS, garbage, etc - just see Barrett Sallee's Twitter feed as an example. He represented the worst of them.
In the end it wasn't a noose. It was a garage door pull rope with a bowline knot at the end to form a loop.
Bubba Wallace, who said he didn't see the rope but was just told about it, is no longer an innocent bystander here. Despite the FBI conclusion, he is making the talk show rounds spewing nonsense and doubling down that it was a noose. I've lost a lot of respect for him and am now wondering if he was complicit in this whole fiasco. He and his entire crew should be suspended.
