Yep. Gives us 2 openings to fill at present. Crean is remaking this roster at break neck speed.

No ill will towards Sargiunas, but that is probably for the best for team and player.

I'm already excited to see what happens next year and seems obvious that Crean's not done working...
Every man should believe in something, I believe Florida sucks

Ignas just couldn't play the uptempo style Crean wants. Very difficult time on defense against quick, SEC guards.

So with him and Hightower out, that leaves....
Fagan
Crump
Harris
Edwards
Brown
Toppin
Walton
Camara
Hammonds
Claxton
Ngumezi

Those two make room for a PG and a C. Assuming that PG is a solid grad transfer, that could make for a starting five of gt, Edwards, Harris, Hammonds, Claxton, and a deep bench of Fagan as a backup PG, Crump for perimeter scoring, Toppin and the three FR for long wing depth, plus Ngumezi and one other for inside work.

If Toppin opts to go elsewhere, I wonder if Crean goes for another big. With a potential huge 2020 class to fill openings from seniors Crump and Harris, possible NBA departures for Edwards and Claxton, plus the grad transfer's spot reopening, maybe two if our added big is also a grad transfer. So 4-6+ in next year's class?

I hear Camara is growing, and bigger than "advertised", and is now more of a combo forward. If so I see him more of a backup at the 4, especially with the depth we will have with wings, and lack of at the 4/5.

I hope so. He was listed at 190 lbs at 6'6". Can you say string bean? I mean I'm 190 and I'm only 6'2" and I'm pretty lean.

Has he grown height-wise also?

All that said, his film still looks pretty good!

Nice. Although a 4 may as well be a "long wing" in this system as opposed to traditional PF play. But fair point, hopefully he's taller, and thickening up to play a role as a 3/4 similar to Hammonds.

I wouldn't be surprised that by Sept, when they release the media guide, to see him listed around 6'7" 215 lbs.

just ran across this in the red and black from some time ago:

Walton and Camara represented a nice start. Sophomore forward Nicolas Claxton said so himself on Feb. 15. "I'm extremely excited," Claxton said. "They [are] two guys that have really good length. Toumani, I like. I heard he's really good defensively. That's something I get excited about, personally."

Doesn't really sound like a quote from someone seriously planning on leaving. Not conclusive, but a good sign imo.

Fwiw, Ant Edwards is quoted as describing his future role with Georgia as "play-making." That sounds kind of point guardish to me - hard to be a playmaker unless you've got the ball in your hands.

He is said to be working hard on Precious Achiuwa. Ant's rivals in recruiting Precious are said to be Wiseman (Memphis) and Bacot (UNC). Mr. Achiuwa hasn't set a date to decide, but says he is open to "any school who is recruiting me." I think UGA is on his final 7.

Yep, that's what an ATL Express Coach intimated to me a month or more back. We both have our doubts about the effectiveness of AE primarily at the point. I can't imagine Ant with Jordan or Tyree at the other guard being able to handle full court pressure. I'd like to see a team that averages closer to 10 TO's than 20. Either way, glad to have Edwards in Red and Black!

Been awfully quiet here lately.... I live west of Georgia so there's been plenty of talk over this way with the Oats hire and AU's run through the blue bloods.
