Just saw that Andy Enfield is leaving USC for SMU.

I guess the draw of coaching in the ACC pulled him away, although I notice that USC has lost a number of coaches in recent years - at least 2 to UGA. I wonder why people are bailing....

In any event, Enfield leaving may put several kids that we might be interested in into the portal - Isaiah Collier and Arrinten (sp?) Page.

I think we had a kid in for a visit yesterday. I think it was Kanaan Carlyle at Stanford who is from Atlanta. Very good player.

We have a chance to really upgrade our talent level if we are successful in the portal.

Monk- You pose a very interesting question about what is going on at USC that so many coaches are leaving. That being said, Collier would be a very nice addition if he would be interested in coming to us. I just have a made feeling in my gut that will not be the case. I am not familiar with Page. Kanaan Caerlyle would also be an excellent pick up for us.It is indeed good news if he was on a visit with us. I expect GT will be in the mix as well since they offered him out of HS (I am not sure we did?).

Hopefully this run in the NIT will give us a little recruiting boost. Especially so, if we could run on to a championship.

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is at USC. Going into the Big 10 one would think they would want to keep high profile coaches to be able to compete.

It was Carlyle on the visit, and yes, Tech is in on him as well.

Honestly, I doubt that Collier would have an interest in UGA. Seems he would be looking at very high profile programs. Page went to McEachern, and we don't seem to do well with them. I think a coach there has a connection to Auburn, and that's why Pearl gets so many from there. Page is about 6'11" 245 at center. He could be helpful to us, but I don't know whether he leaves USC or whether there is mutual interest.

That is precisely my thought on Collier. I do not believe he gave us a thought for the briefest momment coming out of HS. Auburn's connection at McEachern explains a lot. In recent years Auburn has recruited Atlanta like they are the in-state school. They must have connections like that all over the Atl (LoL). We can't even get a scrub player out of the Overtime Elite program.

Yeah, it's really amazing. ATL is one of the big keys to Pearl's success.
