The Dawgs did everything possible to blow this game. But replay revealed the tying shot was actually blocked. Whooooo.... We played pretty well and rebounded better than usual for much of the game. But, holy cow, did we try to throw it away. Our play late in the game was just, uh, puzzling....

If the game is 41 minutes long, we lose.

The play in the last 2 minutes was inexcusable, but the ten minutes before that (to me) was more Xavier than Georgia. They were on fire (particularly Claude). White said he didn't see the team relax, and I agree with him. Xavier deserves a lot of credit for not giving up when everything said they were toast.

I hope our young players stick around. Learning to win is a real thing. My hunch is that this same group next year wouldn't have cut this one so close...

Agree. When you have a big lead you don't have to outscore them anymore. Just match baskets. They started to score every time down the floor and we stopped scoring. It doesn't take long for a lead to disappear when you stop scoring. Thankful for the win.

Yeah, Xavier picked up its play, but those last couple of minutes were excruciating. We kept throwing the ball on in-bounds into the corner and getting trapped. What the hell?? Dribble the damn thing; throw the ball into the middle of the court; don't get trapped in the corner. That's the worst place on the floor. And we gave away late leads more than once this season.... Gotta play smarter than that.

Yes. Very Foxian inbounds plays there at the end.

Hill falling out of bounds was especially infuriating. Xavier's players were not even trying to get the ball, they were just trying to keep him from passing. You literally don't have to do anything for 5 seconds, and you have a timeout. The only thing he could have done worse is score for them.

That made absolutely no sense. Throw the ball off the leg of a defender, but don't just stand there. But Hill has, frankly, done a lot of dumb stuff this year.
