I didn't see a lot of good in that game honestly. Our 7 footer got dominated inside along with our other bigs. We shot incredibly poorly. Our offense depends way too much on individual moves and shots. I really like an offense that has movement, shares the ball and creates good shots. I didn't see that with us. And defensively? The less said the better.
I was talking with a buddy of mine last night, and I asked him what he thought our identity was. We have no identity. It's the same problem we've had with a number of coaches in the past. I would think as a coach you want to establish an identity, whatever it is, and recruit to that identity.
I watched UNC v. Radford after our game. Radford was hitting every shot early, but UNC hung with them because their offense creates good shots, and they made the shots. There's not a lot of just taking a guy off the dribble, which seems to be the essence of our attempt at offense. UNC made good entry passes to its big men for easy shots or they have movement without the ball, passing, screening, spacing the floor and creating open shots. I don't see that with us.
