White - UGA
Paris - USCe
Golden - UF
McMahon - LSU
Gates - Mizzou
Jans - MSU

Trying to be as objective as possible, who do you think made the best hire?

IMO UGA made a hire that is head and shoulders better than the others. White is a proven winner in the conference. There is very little risk with White. Every one of the other hires is risky. McMahon probably has the best built-in recruiting advantage. Admittedly, I have not paid close attention to their various schemes and philosophies yet, but none strike me as the second coming of John Wooden or Dean Smith. Paris may be a great coach but will likely struggle in Columbia. Even though they got to a Final Four, they have not won with any consistency. The Golden hire seemed really out of left field. UF fans think they are a blue blood program, and they aren't. I doubt Golden wins enough to satisfy them. Cuonzo Martin couldn't win at Mizzou, despite getting some top recruits. I just can't see Gates being any better. And Jans is a total mystery. On the whole, I think White was the best hire.

I've wanted us to hire Mike White for over eight years. I think we stuck gold with this hire. I would not pick any of those other coaches over Mike White.
