I'm not sure when the buyout clause kicks in. Assuming it reduces after the last game, then he will be canned after the last game. So, it's possible it could happen tomorrow.

Why hasn't the hammer been laid down? Maybe Brooks can say Crean quite...I mean in all honesty he certainly mailed it in the past 10 games

It's been reported that Brooks gave Crean an opportunity to resign and take his full $3.2 million buyout, but he refused. So Crean knows it's coming. His contract required 7 days written notice apparently. I suspect he will get that today, and we will continue to move forward with our search, which has been going on awhile now.

What is the benefit to getting fired for Crean as opposed to resigning? Isn't $3.2 the number either way? That is strange to me. Unless he philosophically won't "quit."

I read that Crean has hired a separate attorney from his agent. Not sure what that's about except perhaps to try to figure out a way to get the other $4 million UGA was trying to save by waiting until the end of the season. And I don't know what the contract says, if anything, about when Crean can be fired in relation to the buyout.
