assistants who have never been head coaches aren't usually successful and often have pointed to the current record of UNC under Hubert Davis. Well, UNC under Davis have 20+ wins and just beat Duke in K's last game at Cameron Indoor. And that victory was built largely upon coaching decisions made by Davis, particularly subbing out Bacot early in the 1st half and in taking advantage of the constant switching by Duke and the mismatches it created. Davis has had a damn good rookie year as HC....

I would give any assistant who has coached under a hall of famer for almost a decade a look. Kind of Kirby-esque there.

Good for Hubert. He waited for and earned this job.

Who has said that? I think what folks have said is that they want an assistant who has enjoyed great success with a winner with extraordinary traits. I do not think anyone is saying it must be a sitting coach. While we can pluck a guy off the staff of a middling program and win big, it would take a great eye for coaching talent (here is to hoping) and/or some fortune for it to turn out to be a great hire. If we go the assistant route, it will likely be a lead assistant from a perennial winner or an NBA team.

I have no idea who Jimmy Sexton might represent in basketball, if anyone, but I believe I would call him and ask what he could do for UGA.
