Great Xs & Os and tons of GA and southern recruiting experience. Would be very surprised if we are not successful both in recruiting and in implementing a solid, exciting system.
Agree Monk, this is EXACTLY what we had hoped Fox would do when he was first hired-Crean had much more name recognition and exposure coming from IU and then ESPN, than Fox coming from Nevada. But both are somewhat outsiders to the SE, and unlike Fox, Crean hired TWO coaches that can recruit the state VERY WELL and have great connections already built-so they don't have to take the time to establish those connections. He then hired a very good X and O coach to assist him as well. Job well done and you can sense that UGA basketball might just have it right this time. Sure hope so.
Exactly right, Haney. Crean made some very smart hires. He did not repeat Fox's mistakes. He knew he was coming to a new area for him that is loaded with talent and that he needed local help to get that talent. Talent is what wins. Get the talent and put them in position to perform.
Now let's just see who he gets, and how he develops our talent. The cupboard is not bare with Hightower, Jackson, Crump, Harris, Hammond, Claxton, and Ogbeide providing a solid seven man base of returning experience to improve.
