Looks like UCF is back in the news with the reception of their NC Rings and their former OC that left for Nebraska with Frost is apparently in some hot water with fans for not acknowledging their NC.
Here's my take on the whole UCF thing; We have a system. Everyone has agreed to play under the system. The Playoff is not perfect, but it's light years ahead of the old BCS garbage. I don't even consider anything before the Playoffs as a REAL championship. But now that we have a playoff, it's a better system and everyone has to accept it as the way things are done. It probably will, and maybe needs, to be revamped and moved to an 8 team thing someday soon, but that's another topic for another thread. I think UCF has some arguments, they were undefeated and they beat Auburn, and yeah, Auburn took down us and Bama...but let's face it; Auburn lost their motivation after we mopped the floor with them in the SECCG. Their season was over for all practical purposes. Anybody that watched that game will tell you that team looked like they would have rather have been back at their dorms watching a Game of Thrones marathon on HBO rather than playing in that bowl game.
I'm sorry they're getting screwed by the system, but their risk is as great as any other team's as far as the risk of maybe getting screwed. It's happened to us before...2007. And heck, if any team has a right to yell about getting screwed this season, it's us. After having our NC with Bama being officiated by a bunch of incompetent goofball refs that were missing freaking calls that my wife was spotting, I think the Rose Bowl was the REAL Championship game instead of the Peach Bowl. But again, that's another topic for another thread...
